bird eggs of australia.

i am seriously in love with all of the pretty pastels that have been popping up all over the place.  i've never (or well at least not for a LONG while) been so smitten with such light, ethereal colors, and now i find myself lusting after light pink walls and the palest of blue plates.

on a side note, it is going to be 75 here today which means, i'm afraid, we've hit spring, like for good, as in pollen soup and summer heat are just around the corner.

GIANT polaroids.

when i was in college i took a class that took us to the 20x24 polaroid studio ... TO USE IT.  my results were, um, well, weird.  after freaking out for a good couple of weeks i still had no idea what i was going to shoot and so, it ended up being a self-portrait.  me, white background, white hoodie, and mac oyster girl lipglass.  i honestly think that i might actually like the image if it wasn't a 20x24 of myself.  now i just look at it and see the baby fat face of my 20ish year old self.  so in lieu of ever going back ... which i suppose i shouldn't discount ... i'm going to lust after this 20x24 giant polaroid print by grant hamilton.  i mean, it is amazing, no?

he can live with us ... if he wants.

because honestly, he would look auuuhhhhhhhhhhhmazing on our dining room wall.  you know just to the left of our new liquor closet (have i mentioned that our new house is fantastic?  a mess, with practically nothing in it's proper place, but fantastic never-the-less).

why don't we have two of these?

we tend to live in small places in small towns.  we don't like for things to get too big, it leaves too much to clean and too much that is never lived in.  so, what is the point?  that being said we also have four bikes between us, and if i had it my way it would be at least five*.  anyhow they all live out in the shed because we have nowhere inside to put them.  that could change.  our pretty bikes could be hanging on our walls under our pretty books or pretty flowers or pretty sculptures.  i like this very much.

*two mountain bikes, two road bikes and i long for one of those cruisers everyone is talking about these days, unfortunately our small towns are not very bike lifestyle friendly.  they tend to be 20 miles from the grocery or in the south where people seem to want to kill you (just don't see you) if you are exercising in public.

hello pretty.

in my head i'm a ballerina, in real life, notsomuch (i wish i had liked those little kid dance classes more). but still, maybe i want my life to be lived in these colors? we talk of painting all of our doors a coraly salmon color and our walls grey. now we just need a bit of yellow and we are all set.

can you imagine anything prettier than a wall covered in porcelain envelopes? (this might get me off my plates on walls kick that mas is not very fond of)

our walls.

we have a fair amount of wall space in our new abode, and while we also have a fair amount of art to place on said wall space, i kinda think we need more. like this piece.

um, yeah.

leah giberson

i am loving these quiet, simple prints by leah giberson. i think we could add a couple to our walls that we are absolutely CRAMMING full of art (while we frequently find ourselves short on furniture the same is not the case when it comes to framed lovelies and all of a sudden our wall space is, well, not as vast as it once was).

bunny family

while shopping for wall decals that may or may not make an appearance in the studio i found this family of bunnies. i don't know what it is exactly but i have noticed a bit of a bunny obsession starting over here. hmmmm. oh well. anyway i'm not sure i have a place for this (and am fairly sure mas doesn't need bunnies on his walls), but if you do ...

and as it is one of those threadless / blik collaborations you can also find it in a t-shirt (which i don't think mas would mind seeing lolling around the house).

doily sweet doily

i saw this over at design sponge and swooned. i love it. and maybe want it for my cork wall ... which (in case you were curious) is staying attached these days. woohoo! or maybe i am going to use the stack of doilies that are lurking in a dark corner somewhere to make my own version. oh i LOVE doilies.

good morning friend

perhaps omar needs a companion? although her cylinder shaped body might prove to be problematic when attempting to hang her on the wall, she is still quite cute.
