So.

It's been a while.  Let's not pretend it hasn't, but let's also just let that slide by.  So much has been happening and eventually I'll let you in on all of it, though don't get too excited, it's all pretty ho-hum, nothing crazy.  For now though can we talk about FALL?  How amazing it is?  How it's not summer anymore?  Can we also talk about boots and buffalo plaid?  The former I've never really been a fan of, until recently, and I've gone crazy for them.  The latter has always been a favorite.  So you can imagine my excitement when they both came into my life this week in their most amazing of ways. i'm a big believer in having a nice pair of black flats when september rolls around.  i live in them.  for, like, the entire fall and winter.

can't get enough.  and that navy polish is passport blue ... in case it doesn't pop up as such.  by far the best navy polish i've ever had.  though i'm not gonna say it's the best quality, just the best color.

i'm a sucker for collaborations.  and i really, really, really like this one.  adidas originals x opening ceremony will be available early july.  just in time for me to be tired of my current bathing suits.

last week mas and i headed up to new york, him for a few business meetings and me for a trip to new york ... it had been a while since i'd been, so why not?  we hopped on the train and while en route i sent a very frantic email to my most trusted food source asking for her most fave *cheapish* food spots.  she replied with an even more urgent text message with a good five options (i love you celia for understanding the importance of not missing even a single meal when in a city filled with food).

we proceeded to eat ourselves stupid.  it went pretty well for a while, though i did have to skip dinner one night because i was so full from the previous two days that i felt like vomiting all over the place.  here's a list, you know in case you were curious ....

porchetta // cafe clementine // cafe habana // the bar in our hotel // la colombe // bouchon bakery // laudurée // num pang // the city bakery // and that is honestly all i can remember.  oh, oh colony grill, which is in connecticut, we had to head north for a little family get together, hot oil pizza, who knew?

oh, also, i got a new pair of shoes.  i looooooooooove them.

between all of this crazy warm weather and the spring lines being readily available for purchase, i'm having a hard time not wanting an entirely new wardrobe.

i might also have bloody feet, but esb swears that if i start slowly and break them in with socks first, they will be fine.  which is good because i'm wearing them no matter what.  they are my perfect spring/summer/fall/winter shoe ... the kind i can *hopefully* just throw on, the kind that will add a touch of non-slob to my slobby self.

fall into winter.

since it stays decently warm where we are these days (i.e nothing really below 32) i have a feeling that i'll continue to live in the same five items i've been living in for the past month ... only maybe add a coat?

i've found the replacement for my chucks. while i was briefly toying with the idea of the bensimon filling that gap, i've recently gone in a different direction.



with the one tiny exception of the dye ending up all over my feet (and when the weather cools i imagine all over my socks) i'm quite pleased with the purchase.
