well it is in the early stages of actually changing. right now it's only in the stage of throw some drop cloths over it and call it a day, but that is pretty significant for our household.

ps - anyone have any awesome sources for lampshades? we are in desperate need of a few and can't find anything that moves us. we also need a new coffee table, but that is an entirely different conversation.

i've been spending quite a bit of time researching housewares recently. i swear you would think that we were in the market for a complete home makeover ... we're not. so for now maybe i can just add some placemats to the mix? placemats that i LOVE? placemats that are dying to live in our house, and um maybe a tray(the wee chick, obv)?

kitchen inspiration.

so things on the home front are getting serious. we are actually planning a trip to the paint store, you know in a couple of weeks, when things calm down, will they ever calm down? first on our list is the living room, the green walls are garish and driving us both out of the room. second is likely the dining room, or bathroom, but then third MUST be the kitchen. it is going to be a serious undertaking. it is easily the worst laid out kitchen either of us has ever seen, and the counter tops are tile ... i will never understand why people think tile kitchen counter tops are a good idea. anyway THIS is what we need. nice and open and pretty and white.

things we need

our house is in need of a bit of love. you know the kind of love that tears down kitchen cabinets, repaints all walls, and tiles the bathroom? (if it wanted to re-do the attic and basement i wouldn't complain, but there is no way that kind of love in entering our domicile any time soon) we also are in desperate need of lighting, and a lot of it. so maybe a few of these*?





*we had two of them in chicago by our besides and i still kinda think we should have TAKEN THEM WITH US.
