HELP.
i need a new laptop case for my most amazing 15" macbook pro. after lusting after this clare vivier i've decided it is not as much protection as it is awesome. and while i like awesome when it comes to things that carry things, i need something that will prevent my life (i.e my laptop) from cracking in half (or denting or scratching etc, etc) when traveling. i'm a FREAK when it comes to protecting my electronics, so i need something sturdy. for my black macbook i used this black incase sleeve. it worked well, but i want something new ... and amazeballs. mmmmmm k? thanks.

birthday, cookie fail, dogs playing.
i'm in asheville for my dad's birthday and so far it has been a lesson in apps. good ones, like flipboard, how did i live without YOU??? and bad ones like photoage, shocking that one doesn't work, eh? we've planned dinner at a new restaurant in town and lunch at an old favorite. frances is stealing dens and those cookies that i thought were failures, well they actually turned out to taste super delicious a day later. oh AND there might even be snow tomorrow, SNOW. mas and i live in the part of nc that has already passed on winter so it's nice to spend a day or two with the possibility. i swear if i go the entire season without a single snowflake ... well, i don't know what i will do, but i can tell you i will be near monster level pissed by the end of the undoubtedly disgustingly hot summer.

so now it's tuesday?

yesterday was spent in an iphone haze. i'm not sure if i should tell you this, but i lost the better part of my day to the incessant toggling between three live blog feeds, nearly ripping my hair out when jobs asked everyone in the moscone center to un-connect themselves from the internets and exchanging quips with my brother via ichat (all of this re: the iphone). and then it just didn't stop, after the keynote was over i spent the rest of the afternoon/evening discussing the pros and cons of the new phone with my parents. it was a completely geeked out day. and unfortunately it resulted in ZERO work being accomplished. so now, i'm woefully behind schedule and two weeks away from a new phone. you have to take the good with the bad, right?

i was holding out for this

holding out hope that is. and while i'm not exactly sure what i would use one for, i'm certainly not opposed to trying. i wonder just how life changing (or not) this ipad .. bad name apple, bad name .. will be. that being said i'm pretty sure my dad will order one as soon as humanly possible so i might just wait it out and play with his first.
and for the record, no i anything could replace my library books, i still read the printed word.

i've only ever had 1 iphone case
and it was so pretty ... but not very useful. every time i dropped my phone the case would break or crack. so in the end, it was COVERED in wood glue. which made it, well, not so pretty. anyway i am a pretty staunch believer in the naked iphone (hello beautiful product design) but i do understand that phones are dropped places they really shouldn't be (some more than others) and therefore need some kind of cushion*. so if you are one of THOSE people that insists on covering up the prettiest phone in existence, then might i suggest one of these?

that's right, threadless is making covers, and pretty cool ones at that. so if you must ... please do it prettily.
*i've had my phone since day 1 of the iphone and it still works ... though there are some gashes in the metal and the corners are all dinged up. i drop my phone a lot ... even in frances' water bowl once ... threw it in rice for an hour and it was back to new. so you can't tell me cushion is necessary.

cut and paste ... oh thank goodness

did you hear? cut and paste is going to be part of the new iphone 3.0! that and a bunch of other pretty nifty little things like, um, spotlight. rumor is that not all of these upgrades will work with the first generation (this might be the thing that finally convinces me to upgrade) which peeves me, but it was bound to happen sooner or later.
for everyone looking for a bit more info you can see the details over at gizmodo.

poolga
i like my pictures to be my iphone wallpaper, but ...

i like these too. now i just change my wallpaper on a (more) regular basis and i like it. did you know that i thrive off of change? it is true. i make mas help me rearrange the furniture regularly, i haven't lived in a city for longer than 3.5 years since high school, and sometimes i change my clothes at noon just because. so you see this poolga thing is very well suited for me. {thanks east side for opening my eyes}
