i've found myself wandering.

wandering around asheville in the spring time that is. what happened to spring in eastern north carolina? we skipped it i guess. i forgot there was more to this season than just the sneezy, phlem filled days of allergies.

i'm lingering in my day and a half of temperatures in the low 60's with plenty of sun, lots of new blooms, and a few fun appointments.

wedding wednesday inspired by : a feather save the date

so um, yeah. the feather save the date is a recent winner of my favorite thing ever. wrapped in a test tube and shipped in a kraft paper box ... smiles. the invite wasn't too shabby either ... box filled with moss, invite stiched to fabric and attached to wood. so what else would befit such and event besides a tree house, antlers and a flowy dress?

22 March 2010

and here we go again.

it was bound to happen i suppose. i couldn't live an entire county away from my one and only little outpost. so, yes, i've another shop ... really a studio ... i'm not selling anything but custom paper goods here as it is solely appointment only.

so, if you were to swing by west asheville (508 haywood rd to be exact) you would see that inside the bloom room there is quite a bit of beautiful paper goodness. that is right i've teamed up with stacey who is simply amazing (and no, not just because she did the flowers for our wedding). there will be a party early summer to celebrate but for now asheville brides and paper people call/email/stop by to make an appointment.

{i'm very excited about this}

100 layer cake and heart of light.

you guys know that rachel from heart of light is the guest blogger over at 100 layer cake this week, right? today her post is about diy invites and you should check it out ... not just to see the cevd invites, but to listen to a rational person speak diy.

wedding wednesday : inspired by

an accordion fold letterpress invitation with a perforated rsvp. wrapped in a light grey folder and enveloped by a dark grey lined in yellow. the bride did her own calligraphy and it is ridiculously wonderful.

she is getting married in detroit atop a v. tall building downtown in a most gorgeous non-satin dress. i on the other hand want to be back on the central coast fogged in with lanvin and loeffler randall. we were fast friends.

oh, did you know?

we're thinking about bidding adieu to etsy. the relationship has been good but i think it is time for a change. i'll keep you posted on our future, but for now you can find pretty.pretty.paper goods here.

.cevd. as always is still here.

long over due

i must admit, i have been sitting on the updated images for the cevd website for a couple of weeks now. what can i say? nothing i know. but here is a sneak peek of what is to come on the site in about a week.

{the rsvp and envelope from the most wonderful mrs.kellie's wedding}

{a papel inspired paper set}

ps - isn't ashley the sweets? i am so happy to have her around, and you guys ... she is on blog duty every thursday! yay!

{all photo styling by chelsea who has a pretty amazing tartan table on the blog right this minute, and all photos by lisa warninger ... duh, who else would i trust with my pieces?}

pass it along

cevd is hiring! if you or someone you know appreciates paper, doesn't mind retail sales, and is dying to work in los alamos* (you guys the bull above lives in los alamos and he is so sweet! you can feed him carrots and apples and celery) then it would be best to contact me, christine, at the following email address : christine@cevd.com.

*i'll speak to those that are merely willing to work in los alamos as well.

...

well it has been, um, a CRAZY week and i could really use another day or two. but i don't have them, and do have a plane to catch in the morning. however in between now and the monday after next i have lined up a few things for the blog ... so check back at least once. it will be worth it.

also a wee announcement :

{pssst - you are all invited}

and the best news ever ... cevd is going to be a bit more than just wedding invitations in the very close future. i'll get more specific as the day nears, but it is going to be good. really really good.

05 June 2009

ok, it should be working for safari now.

one would think that me being a mac person attempting to use a mac program for the new website would insure workings on mac browsers, but apparently that was not the case. however, thanks to a bit of help from helper one and helper two i think all things are a go. *crossing fingers*

so thank you for being patient, and in honor of the new site finally working i am extending a 20% discount on all custom paper products until the fourth of july. yay! so just send me an email or give me a ring (contact info available here) and we can chat away.

03 June 2009

and then since we are on the topic of new websites ...

mine is up and running! and seeing as though i do actually design wedding invitations i figured the update would coincide quite nicely with wedding wednesday (though i am begining to feel a bit weird about the lack of dresses). so take a gander ... and check back because unlike my old site, this one is actually easy to update so there will be new stuff posted on a decently regular basis ... yay!

{oh and i must say thank you to chelsea fuss and lisa warninger who continue to make my life ...and website... prettier and happier. i love pretty pictures}

brace yourself for some pretty amazing owl action

alright, these save the dates are fantastic. there is simply no denying it. and can you guess the designer? if you think really hard, i bet you can ...

if you were thinking this girl, well you were right. jamie (the almost architect) has been dabbling in the world of paper goods for a while now. you have seen her invites, her amazing paper cuts and now some of the ridiculous work she is doing for her friends.

don't you want to be one of those friends? yeah, so do i. ALTHOUGH rumor has it that she might be interested in doing such things for complete strangers ... you know if you just encourage her a little bit (so, um encourage!).

and ps - the owls on the save the dates were inspired by this guy.

i need more owls in my life.

i love invitations

oh so beautiful paper posted these a bit ago and i just came across them. oh how i love the idea of an invitation book. to see more or read more (which you really really want to do, trust me) click here. there are even pictures of their save the date that came in a custom mailing tube ... oh my.

{designed by the bride and groom, also a stationery designer here}

i love invitations

designed by the bride and groom and printed by studio on fire. first they were letterpressed and then they were gocco'd (or at least the fabric insert was) and finally they were stitched. oh how i love them so. thank you nole for finding them!
